Excellent Home Cooking
“We stopped here for lunch on October 10 while on an impromptu road trip through Hocking Hills. When we first arrived and saw the parking lot was full, we hesitated to go in (Covid, you know) but we were hungry for some home-cooked food. We were told the wait would be approximately 20 minutes, but it actually was about half that time. We were pleased to see that the tables were well-spaced (no crowding at all).
I ordered the fried chicken dinner, complete with mashed potatoes, gravy, and sweet corn. Wow, was that good, and the portions were sizeable. The chicken was hot, fresh, and juicy, yet the skin was crisp. My partner ordered the chicken and noodles and said it was just like homemade, following it up with dutch apple pie. I also had a dinner roll which could have been a meal all by itself. The value was great: all of this food for under $30.00, and we left as full as we could be.
I want to give a special shout-out to our server, Brittany. Efficient, attentive, and amazingly congenial, she made the already-excellent experience even better. Thanks, Brittany!

“Been here twice and loved it both times. Ordered off menu and it’s tons of food! Never had room for dessert, unfortunately. They have family-style meals if you’re really hungry! Nice gift shop out front and friendly service. Will be back.”
